Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 will be available Oct. 22. Release to manufacturing is expected by the end of July. Market share for Internet Explorer 8 jumped to 7.6% in May as the software started being pushed to users via Windows Update. IE 7 dropped to 40.8%, and IE 6 dropped to 16.9%.
