Business

Windows XP was installed on about 90% of the netbooks sold in Nov-Jan. Almost all netbooks use Intel's low-power Atom processor. ARM processors are in many smartphones and the Kindle 2 electronic book reader, and ARM wants them to also be used in netbooks. Since Windows doesn't run on ARM processors, ARM-based netbooks would run Linux.

A comparison of Amazon's Kindle 2 and Sony's Reader PRS-700 electronic book readers. The Kindle 2 has a cell data connection to download books; the PRS-700 downloads from a PC via USB and can accept several file formats. The PRS-700 is smaller because it does not have a keyboard; the touch screen display includes a keyboard. http://www.computerworld.com/action/article.do?command=viewArticleBasic&articleId=9130624
