A review of the prerelease version of Windows 7 concludes that it is an improved Vista that provides a better user experience, with several new features, but isn't a radical change from Vista. User Account Control is adjustable, and is much less annoying.

A low-level examination of Windows 7 shows that it is just a slightly improved Windows Vista, with no significant performance improvements.

A test of 4 multifunction printers shows that many printers report that the ink cartridge is empty when there is still ink left. An Epson printer had 8% of the ink left, and a non-Canon cartridge in a Canon printer had 45% of the ink left. The printers refused to print once they reported they were out of ink. An HP printer continued to print once it reported it was low on ink.
