Theme Problems with Vista

Junior Poster Posts: 51 Group: Members Member #41 Joined: April 30, 2008	I downloaded this, but I can't uninstall it because every time I click on the link I saved of it after downloading it, this happens. And the theme isn't on the uninstall list in the CP. And a system restore won't work.

Admin Posts: 4,395 Group: Admin Member #1 Joined: January 24, 2007	Try clicking the start button and in the search box type: cmd Right click cmd in the list and click run as administrator In the command prompt type: sfc /scannow Restart and see if that fixes it. Note: you might want to have your Windows CD handy as it may ask you to insert it if it finds any problems.

Admin Posts: 4,395 Group: Admin Member #1 Joined: January 24, 2007	Even if you bought it with Windows on it whatever company that made the laptop (Dell, HP, etc) should've included a CD for it. What SFC does is it finds any system files that was modified by programs like the theme you installed and replaces them with the default ones.

I've still got this: http://i34.tinypic.com/2rp5fs0.jpg Lable 1 shows the lines that weren't there before, and label 2 shows the squared edge - that was rounded, before. And those Mac thingys under the taskbar are still there, meaning the theme hasn't been uninstalled. 2. Why won't my System restore do anything? Edited by Phlip, Nov 11 2008, 04:23 PM.

Admin Posts: 4,395 Group: Admin Member #1 Joined: January 24, 2007	I'm glad things are back to normal. I'm not sure why restore isn't working. I look into that some more for you and let you know if I find anything You could try running restore in Safe Mode. That might get it to work.
