A look at 3 ruggedized laptops. The Panasonic Toughbook is the best selling rugged laptop, gets 7 hours of battery life, is slower than the others, and is the most expensive of the 3. All have magnesium-aluminum cases, hard drives in shock absorbers, and sealed openings. Rugged laptops are more expensive than mainstream laptops, and account for 1% of laptop sales.
