To install Microsoft's core fonts (Arial, Times New Roman, etc.) type the following in a terminal:

sudo apt-get install msttcorefonts

After you do that a dialog box will pop up on your screen that says "Configuring msttcorefonts" Just click forward at the bottom of the dialog box.

Is there a way to install the vista fonts, too?
You can do that on XP by installing and then deinstalling the Power Point viewer from MS. Installing will install those fonts, deinstalling will leave them on your system, though.

1. Install cabextract
sudo apt-get cabextract

2. Download and save the shell script found here into your home directory

3. Type the following in a terminal to make the file executable
chmod a+x ~/vista-fonts-installer.sh

4. Install curl
sudo apt-get install curl

5. Run the script
~/vista-font-installer.sh

Everything in italics are terminal commands. Anything in bold is file names

Great! Now can we expect that people will actually have those fonts and use them on websites. :)

Some of them look really nice. I hope people start using them more in websites. Maybe I'll mess with the skin for Zetaboards with these fonts since I downloaded them.
